Shedeur Sanders Will Keep the Starting Position in the Browns
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders will continue as the starter in the upcoming Sunday game against the San Francisco 49ers, as announced by Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski this Monday.
Stefanski confirmed that Sanders will keep his position, even though Dillon Gabriel has passed the concussion protocol.
In his debut as a starter in the NFL, Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes, accumulating 209 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, in the Browns’ victory over the Las Vegas Raiders with a score of 24-10.
Sanders became the 42nd quarterback to start a game for the Browns since 1999. In addition, he achieved the feat of being the first Cleveland quarterback to win his first game as a starter since 1995, when Eric Zeier achieved it.
This victory also ended a streak of 17 consecutive losses for the Browns in games where a quarterback was making his starting debut, the longest streak for any franchise since 1950, when statistics for starting quarterbacks began to be recorded.
