Brock Bowers in Doubt for Game Against Colts

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has been listed as questionable for the upcoming matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, according to coach Pete Carroll. Bowers did not participate in training for two consecutive days due to a knee injury. However, coach Carroll has assured that there have been no setbacks in his recovery and that the team is simply giving him additional rest.

We just want to be safe and slow things down a little bit, giving him a little more rest. That’s really what we’re trying to do.

The player has expressed that he feels better each week and hopes this trend will continue. Although he cannot give details about his injury, he has acknowledged that it has been frustrating to deal with it. Bowers has been playing with a knee injury he suffered in the first game of the season against the New England Patriots. Despite being on the field, his production has noticeably decreased. Since his outstanding performance in the first week, where he achieved five receptions for 103 yards, he has accumulated a total of 14 receptions for 122 yards. He has been limited to under 50 receiving yards in three consecutive games, the longest streak of his career. Despite this, Bowers led the Raiders in yards in last week’s loss against the Chicago Bears, with 46.

It’s painful, annoying, and frustrating because I want to be back at full strength and at full speed, being able to separate myself from others. I feel like I can’t do that in the best possible way right now.

Carroll has stated that Bowers’ injury has not affected the way the Raiders run their offense and expects the team’s star receiver to have more opportunities with the ball in the coming weeks. In addition to Bowers’ situation, the Raiders are facing other injury concerns on their offense. Starting left tackle Kolton Miller was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday due to a high ankle sprain suffered against the Bears. Tight end Michael Mayer is questionable after being out last week due to a concussion. Mayer had limited participation in practice during the week. Linebacker Brennan Jackson (foot) was placed on injured reserve on Friday, while wide receiver Alex Bachman was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad.
