Jayson Tatum Leaves Court Due to Injury in Game 4
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was helped off the court unable to put weight on his right leg in the fourth quarter of Game 4 against the New York Knicks, which ended in a 121-113 loss for the Celtics on Monday night.
Tatum was disputing a loose ball when he got tangled up with Knicks forward OG Anunoby, falling to the ground in obvious pain. He grabbed the back of his right ankle and couldn’t get up.
After Anunoby scored and the Celtics called a timeout, Tatum was finally helped up and left the court unable to put weight on his right leg, with 2:58 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Tatum was having a spectacular game, scoring 42 points on 16 of 28 shooting before the injury.
Boston, which had led by more than 20 points in Games 1 and 2, went up by 14 points in this game before the Knicks rallied in the second half, coming within one win of advancing to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years.
