Spurs’ Stephon Castle to be re-evaluated for injury

San Antonio Spurs player Stephon Castle will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks following an MRI performed on Monday, which revealed a strain in his left hip flexor. Castle, who is shaping up to be one of the most outstanding players of the 2024-25 season, suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings and did not play the second half of that match. Castle himself commented in the locker room that he felt some discomfort, but could not specify when the injury occurred.

When it comes to muscles and soft tissue, you have to work and see how the body responds, and then work a little more and see how the body responds.

Mitch Johnson, Spurs coach
Castle, 21, has been one of the league’s breakout players this season, averaging 17.3 points, 7.5 assists, and 5.8 rebounds. In other injury-related news, the Spurs announced that veteran point guard Jordan McLaughlin underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed a strain in his right hamstring. McLaughlin was injured during a court workout on Monday at the Victory Capital Performance Center.
