Nikola Topic to Undergo Medical Procedure

Oklahoma City Thunder’s point guard, Nikola Topic, underwent a medical procedure on Monday and will be reevaluated in approximately four to six weeks, according to the team.

The start of the NBA regular season for the Thunder is scheduled for October 21 against the Houston Rockets.

Topic, 20 years old, was looking to debut in the NBA with the champion team, after missing his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL.

The 6-foot-6-inch point guard from Serbia was OKC’s 12th pick in the 2024 draft.

In the Thunder’s first preseason game against the Hornets on Sunday, Topic played 31 minutes and recorded 10 points and seven assists.

Oklahoma City will also have to do without another young prospect, rookie center Thomas Sorber, who will miss the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
