Landry Shamet, Knicks Guard, Out with Shoulder Injury

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be reevaluated in four weeks due to a sprain in his right shoulder. Shamet suffered the injury during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Orlando Magic, after colliding with a screen by Wendell Carter Jr. The player left the court visibly affected and did not return to the game. Sources close to the team indicate that the rehabilitation process has already begun. Shamet has proven to be one of the best three-point shooters in the league this season, averaging 42.4% from the three-point line, which earned him a starting spot before the injury.

Before the shoulder issue, he had his best five-game stretch of the season, scoring in double digits in four straight games, including a 36-point performance in the 140-132 victory against Miami. His streak was interrupted by scoring nine points in 23 minutes in the victory against Dallas last Wednesday.

The Knicks won in Charlotte on Wednesday night and will now host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
