Josh Hader, Astros closer, suffers shoulder discomfort
HOUSTON – Astros All-Star closer Josh Hader was unavailable on Monday night due to shoulder discomfort. Manager Joe Espada reported after Houston’s 7-6 victory over the Red Sox that the left-handed pitcher “simply didn’t feel right” after a workout on Monday. The Astros sent Hader for medical tests.Espada did not specify which shoulder was affected. In his second season with Houston, Hader is 6-2 with a 2.05 ERA and is tied for third in the Major Leagues with 28 saves in 48 appearances this season.We are waiting for those results and should have more information tomorrow.
