Knicks’ Landry Shamet Out With Injury

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be re-evaluated in four weeks due to a right shoulder sprain, sources report.

Shamet suffered the injury during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Magic, after colliding with a hard screen from Wendell Carter Jr. The player left the court in obvious pain and did not return to the game.

Sources close to the team indicate that Shamet has already begun the rehabilitation process to recover from his shoulder injury.

Shamet has stood out as one of the best three-point shooters in the league this season, averaging 42.4% from the three-point line, which earned him a place in the starting lineup before the injury. Before the shoulder problem, he had had his best five-game stretch of the season, scoring in double figures in four consecutive games, including a 36-point performance in the 140-132 victory over Miami.

The double-digit streak was interrupted when he scored nine points in 23 minutes in the victory against Dallas last Wednesday.

The Knicks won in Charlotte on Wednesday night and their next game is against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
