Keegan Murray Out with Ankle Injury
Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray will be out for at least three to four weeks due to a left ankle sprain, the team announced.
Murray’s injury occurred on Sunday night during the game against the Bucks. The player fell incorrectly after a play, which caused him immediate pain and the need to leave the court with assistance.
This injury adds to the challenges the team has faced this season. With an 8-28 record, they have suffered five consecutive double-digit losses, giving them the worst point differential (-12) in the NBA.
Murray, known for his resilience, had participated in 231 of 246 possible games in his first three seasons. Previously, he missed the first 15 games of this season due to a left thumb injury. Now, he could miss the rest of January due to this ankle sprain.
In October, the Kings signed Murray to a five-year, $140 million contract extension, securing his stay with the franchise until the 2030-31 season. In the 19 games he has played, Murray has averaged 14.6 points and 6.1 rebounds, and ranks fifth in the NBA in minutes played per game, with 35.9.
