Cavaliers’ Max Strus to Miss More Time with Foot Injury
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Max Strus will be out of the courts for at least another month due to his recovery from surgery on his left foot, the team announced this Tuesday.
Strus suffered a Jones fracture, a break in the bone that connects the little toe to the base of the foot, during preseason training. He underwent surgery on August 26.
The Cavaliers reported that a recent evaluation and images obtained showed that more time is needed for the fracture to heal completely. Initially, Strus was expected to resume basketball activities within three to four months after surgery.
Strus will undergo a follow-up evaluation with Dr. David Porter, who performed the surgery, as well as with the team’s medical and training staff in the next four weeks.
Last season, Strus averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 50 games, including 37 starts, contributing to the Cavs finishing at the top of the Eastern Conference.
