Grizzlies Strengthen Their Roster: Kobe Bufkin Joins the Team
The Memphis Grizzlies plan to add guard Kobe Bufkin via a 10-day hardship exception.
The franchise, affected by injuries, has seen key players like Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., Brandon Clarke, and Ty Jerome out of action for several weeks. Jaren Jackson Jr. has also been absent recently due to a sprained ankle.
The Memphis team managed to improve their record to 6-11 after their second consecutive victory on Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks.
Bufkin is expected to be available to play in Monday’s home game against the Denver Nuggets.
Bufkin, selected with the 15th pick in the 2023 draft, comes from the South Bay G League team of the Los Angeles Lakers and is preparing for his third season in the NBA.
In two G League games this season, Bufkin averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The player spent his first two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and was traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the offseason. He was cut by the Nets after training camp.
