Luka Doncic will miss the first preseason games against the Lakers
The Slovenian star, Luka Doncic, will not participate in the first two preseason games of the Lakers, as announced by the team this Friday.
The Lakers will begin their six-game preseason series on Friday against the Phoenix Suns in Palm Desert. Subsequently, they will face the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
The decision to rest the 26-year-old player was made jointly by Doncic and the Lakers’ performance team, considering his participation in the EuroBasket and prioritizing long-term planning.
The Lakers will also be without LeBron James, who is suffering from a glute nerve irritation, nor Marcus Smart (tendinopathy in the left Achilles tendon), Maxi Kleber (quadriceps) and rookie Adou Thiero (swelling in the left knee) for the game against the Suns.
