Memphis Grizzlies Bolster Roster with Kobe Bufkin

The Memphis Grizzlies plan to add guard Kobe Bufkin via a 10-day hardship exception. The news comes at a critical moment for the Grizzlies, who are facing a series of injuries that have affected their performance this season. The team has had to deal with the absences of key players such as Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., Brandon Clarke, and Ty Jerome, who will be out of the courts for several weeks. In addition, Jaren Jackson Jr. has been dealing with a sprained ankle. Despite these setbacks, Memphis managed to improve its record to 6-11 after obtaining its second consecutive victory on Saturday night in Dallas. Bufkin is expected to be available to play in Monday’s home game against the Denver Nuggets. Bufkin, selected with the 15th pick in the 2023 draft, comes from the South Bay team of the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League and is entering his third season in the NBA. In his two G League games this season, Bufkin averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Previously, he played his first two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and was traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the offseason. However, the Nets cut him after training camp.
