Scotty Pippen Jr. will undergo surgery for a toe injury

Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. will undergo surgery due to an injury to his left big toe, the team announced this Saturday. He is expected to be reevaluated in 12 weeks.

The Grizzlies reported that Pippen Jr. will undergo a sesamoidectomy to treat “persistent discomfort.” A full recovery is expected.

Last season, Pippen Jr. started 21 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.3 rebounds.

Pippen Jr., son of Chicago Bulls legend and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, was not selected in the 2022 draft. He spent his rookie season on a dual contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, participating in six games.

In January 2024, the Grizzlies signed the point guard to a dual contract. In 100 games with Memphis, he has averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 assists.
