Rockets’ Tari Eason out with injury
Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason will be out for four to six weeks due to an oblique strain, head coach Ime Udoka told the media on Saturday.
Eason, 24, did not participate in the second half of the Rockets’ victory over the Trail Blazers on Friday, due to what the team initially described as a hip contusion. In the game, he only played 11 minutes and scored 3 points.
Injuries have been a constant challenge for Eason at the start of his NBA career. In the previous two seasons, he was only able to participate in 79 games.
This summer, Eason and the Rockets failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension, which will make him a restricted free agent in the upcoming offseason.
In 11 games this season with Houston, Eason is averaging 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds.
