Luka Doncic will miss the first preseason games against the Lakers
Slovenian star Luka Doncic will not participate in the first two preseason games for the Lakers, the team announced this Friday.
The Lakers will kick off their six-game preseason series this Friday against the Suns in Palm Desert. Subsequently, they will face the Warriors in an away game on Sunday.
The decision to preserve the 26-year-old player was made jointly by Doncic and the Lakers’ performance team, considering his participation in the EuroBasket and prioritizing the long-term strategy.
The Lakers will also be without LeBron James (glute nerve irritation), Marcus Smart (tendinopathy in the left Achilles tendon), Maxi Kleber (quadriceps), and rookie Adou Thiero (swelling in the left knee) for the matchup against the Suns.
