Yesid Pira Conquers the Mountain in the National Independence Cycling Tour
Guatemalan cyclist Yesid Pira demonstrated his superiority in the third stage of the 47th National Independence Cycling Tour, held between Santo Domingo and Rancho Arriba, San José de Ocoa, covering a distance of 158 kilometers.
The representative of the Hino One La Red team crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours, 40 minutes, and 03 seconds, solidifying their dominance in the demanding mountain stage.
Pira outperformed his compatriot and teammate, César Paredes, as well as Jorge Abreu of the R2R Cycling Team, by eight seconds.
The stage, which began in front of the Banreservas Tower, was marked by a frenetic pace from the start. The peloton remained compact until the final stretch of the ascent, where the positions were defined.
Yesid Pira launched a crucial attack before the descent, securing his victory.
Wilmar Paredes, from Team Medellín, obtained fourth place, 16 seconds behind the winner, which allowed him to ascend to the lead of the general classification with an accumulated time of 8:54.52.
Joseph Ramírez (Verrazano-Santiago) is in second place overall, 32 seconds behind the leader.

In the team classification, Team Medellín leads with a time of 26:52.23, followed by Hino One La Red with 26:55.55.
- U23: Jadián Neaves (Bara Cycling) leads with a time of 9:04.20.
- Points: Wilmar Paredes dominates with 53 points.
- Flying Goals: Wilmar Paredes leads with nine units.
- Mountain: Yesid Pira leads with 33 points.
The best-ranked Dominican is Danielky Cedeño (La Romana), with an accumulated time of 8:59.53.
Next Steps
The competition will continue on Friday 27th with a 140-kilometer circuit in Mirador Sur Park.
On Saturday the 28th, the penultimate stage will take place, with a 138-kilometer route between Santo Domingo and the Circunvalación Santo Domingo Norte.
The 47th edition of the Vuelta Ciclística Independencia Nacional will conclude on Sunday, March 1st, with a circuit in the monumental area of Santiago.
The event is organized by the Dominican Cycling Federation, under the presidency of Jorge Blas Díaz, and is supported by the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, the Ministry of Sports, Banreservas, Seaboard, and Economic Dining Halls, among other institutions.
