Eagles vs. Cowboys: NFL 2025 Opening Matchup
The 2025 season of the National Football League (NFL) will kick off with a stellar matchup. This meeting marks the beginning of a tradition that began in 2004, with the Eagles being the twentieth champions to kick off a new regular season.
Philadelphia, led by Jalen Hurts, Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl LIX, will seek to defend their title against the Cowboys, a team led by quarterback Dak Prescott and with Brian Schottenheimer as the new coach.
The NFL has announced that the remainder of the schedule will be announced in two parts. This Tuesday, the teams that will participate in the seven international games scheduled for 2025 will be revealed.
Among the franchises confirmed to play outside the United States are the Miami Dolphins, who will play as the home team at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid. The Los Angeles Chargers are also awaiting an opponent for their game at the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo (Brazil), which for the second consecutive year will host an NFL game, possibly on Friday, September 5.
London will host three games: two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets as hosts, and one at Wembley Stadium, where the Jacksonville Jaguars will play.
In Germany, the Indianapolis Colts will face off at the Olympiastadion Berlin. The Pittsburgh Steelers will play at Croke Park in Dublin (Ireland).
The remaining games on the 2025 NFL schedule will be announced next Wednesday.
