Shakira Announces “Dai Dai” as Official Song of the 2026 World Cup
The renowned Colombian singer Shakira has revealed that her song “Dai Dai” will be the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The sporting event, which promises to be unforgettable, will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada between June and July.
The news was announced through a video posted on her social media, where Shakira performs fragments of the song in the iconic Maracanã stadium. The video features a vibrant choreography and visual elements related to the World Cup.In the video, Shakira wears the colors of Colombia and shares the scene with dancers representing various participating teams. The song, with a contagious Caribbean rhythm, includes lyrics in English and the characteristic “Oe, oe, oe”.
The official release of “Dai Dai” is scheduled for May 14, marking a new participation of Shakira in the musical history of the soccer World Cups.
The promotional video also shows the official ball “Trionda”, designed for the 2026 World Cup, along with balls from previous editions, including Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.
The Colombian artist has already left her mark on the world of football with “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official anthem of the 2010 South Africa World Cup, and later with “La La La” at the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
The promotional video culminates with the phrase “We Are Ready”, generating anticipation for the tournament that will be held for the first time in three North American countries.
