Savica and Antonio Guzmán: One step away from the final in the TBS Higüey 2025
Higüey, La Altagracia – Savica and Antonio Guzmán clubs have secured an advantageous position in the semifinals series of the 50th Torneo de Baloncesto Superior Altagraciano (TBS Higüey 2025), after obtaining crucial victories in the last day of this phase.
The meetings took place at the Leo Tavárez sports center.
Savica defeated the San Francisco club with a score of 110-106 in overtime, in the continuation of the B semifinal round. For his part, Antonio Guzmán achieved a 101-92 victory over the Centro club, in the A series. Both teams lead their respective series with a score of 2-0, in matches scheduled for the best of five games (5-3).
The two teams that are victorious in this semifinal stage will advance to the final round, which will be played in a best-of-seven games format (7-4).In Savica’s triumph, three players surpassed 20 points, and a total of five reached 10 or more points. Dayker Cedano led the offense with a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, in addition to four assists. Roderick Guzmán contributed 24 points and eight rebounds.
Darwin Rosario, Savica’s reinforcement, contributed 22 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Joandel Rosario scored 18 points and Luar Ledesma, 10.
By San Francisco, Eusebio Suero achieved his second consecutive double-double with 33 points and 11 rebounds, plus four assists. Oscar Montero scored 21 points, Leoanny Reynoso achieved double figures with 19 points and 11 rebounds, Richard Mercedes contributed 16 points and Jorky Mota, 10.
In the match between Antonio Guzmán and Centro, Luis Ángel Ramos stood out with 28 points and 10 rebounds, achieving a double-double, as well as five assists. Oliver García added 24 points and Jeremy Sarmiento, 13.
Jonathan Bello, Center reinforcement, scored 38 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Nathanael Louis achieved a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, Welin Rosa contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Jordy Peralta, 11.
The tournament is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), under the presidency of deputy Jorge Tavárez, and is dedicated to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.Upcoming Meetings
The TBS Higüey 2025 will take a break until Saturday, when the semifinal series A and B will resume with a double header. The games will begin at 7:20 in the evening with the match between Centro and Antonio Guzmán, followed by the match between San Francisco and Savica at 9:00.
