The 2026 LNB Season Kicks Off!
Santo Domingo – The excitement of Dominican professional basketball returns with the start of the 2026 season of the National Basketball League (LNB). Nine teams will compete for the coveted Banreservas Cup, promising a season full of action and competition.
The current champions, Titanes del Sur, will seek their third championship. Their first challenge will be against Metros de Santiago, on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the San Cristóbal Sports Center.
In the other match of the opening day, the Heroes of Moca, a debut team, will face the Mariners of Puerto Plata at 8:00 p.m. at the Moca 85 Sports Center.
The incorporation of the Heroes of Moca raises the number of participating teams to nine, completing the group along with Reales de La Vega, Gigantes Basketball Club, Cañeros del Este, Leones de Santo Domingo and Soles del Este.
The tournament will feature the participation of outstanding players such as Luismal Ferreiras (Gigantes), Gerardo Suero (Leones), Eloy Vargas (Héroes), Jonathan Bello (Soles), Luis Feliz (Marineros), Eusebio Suero (Cañeros), Jordan Gerónimo (Metros) and Anderson Mirambeaux (Reales). The incorporation of figures like Richard Bautista and Jassel Pérez, from the Titanes, is expected in later stages.
The LNB maintains its collaboration with the artist Lápiz Conciente and his brand OiO Clothing. This alliance, which last year included the official jingle, special uniforms and activations, will continue during the season.In the regular season, each team will play 14 matches, extending until May 27. The six best teams will advance to the elimination phase, where they will play 10 additional matches.
The top four will qualify for the semifinals, which will be played in a best-of-five format. The grand final will be decided in a best-of-seven series.Transmission
