Santo Domingo – The National Basketball League (LNB) has confirmed the 2026 season, with the Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana as the main sponsor. The tournament, which promises strong emotions, will begin on Tuesday, April 14, reaffirming the commitment to the development of Dominican basketball. The strategic alliance between the LNB and Banreservas, the official sponsor, ensures a high-level competition. Alieska Díaz, Senior Executive Vice President of Administration at Banreservas, highlighted the entity’s commitment to promoting national sports.
Antonio Mir, president of the LNB, announced the incorporation of Los Héroes de Moca to the tournament, increasing competitiveness and appeal for fans. “This is our season number 20 and 12 of them have been with Banco de Reservas. Thank you for the support, because without you this would not have been possible,” expressed Mir. Mir thanked the support of the Reserve Bank, underlining the importance of this alliance to strengthen Dominican basketball and promote local talent. The 2026 season, which begins on April 14, will feature the participation of the Metros de Santiago, Leones de Santo Domingo, Titanes del Sur, Reales de La Vega, Cañeros del Este, Indios de San Francisco de Macorís, Marineros de Puerto Plata, Soles del Este and Los Héroes de Moca teams. The regular season will run until May 27, with each team playing 14 games. Then, the elimination phases, semifinals and the grand final will be played.“We are aware that, by supporting sports practice at all levels, the bank contributes to promoting the healthy growth of youth and to creating a better society,” said Díaz.
