Licey Tigers Announce Reinforcements for the 2025-26 Season
The Operations department of the Tigres del Licey has confirmed the incorporation of David Hensley, Shaun Anderson, and Hayden Sengler as reinforcements for the continuation of the 2025-26 tournament of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), dedicated to Juan Marichal.David Hensley Returns to Licey
David Hensley, a 6’6″, 219-pound, 29-year-old utility player, rejoins the blue team after a standout performance last season. In that season, Hensley batted .288, with an OBP of .434, five doubles, ten runs scored, and six RBIs in 20 games.
Hensley, with Major League experience with the Houston Astros and the Miami Marlins, arrives after a successful summer in Mexico with Calientes de Durango and Olmecas de Tabasco, where he hit 14 home runs, drove in 57 runs, stole 14 bases in 17 attempts, with a .295 average, a .414 OBP and a .936 OPS.Shaun Anderson Bolsters the Pitching
Right-handed pitcher Shaun Anderson, 6’6″, 228 pounds, 31 years old, will bring his experience to the Licey pitching staff. Anderson has six seasons of experience in Major League Baseball between 2019 and 2025, playing for teams such as San Francisco, Anaheim, Baltimore, Miami, Texas, Minnesota, and Toronto.
Anderson comes from a solid performance in his first experience in LIDOM, where he pitched 14 innings with an effectiveness of 3.21, a WHIP of 1.14, only one walk and 17 strikeouts with the Estrellas Orientales.
His repertoire includes slider (31%), four-seam fastball (28%), changeup (22%), and sweeper (16%). His change of speed generated an impressive 40% whiff rate.Hayden Sengler Bolsters the Defense
The receiver Hayden Sengler, 6’1″, 210 pounds and 28 years old, joins the team. Sengler participated in 33 Major League games with the New York Mets this season. He is recognized for his defensive excellence, having won the Platinum Glove in minor leagues in 2023.
Throughout his career, he has eliminated 32% of runners attempting to steal on him, standing out for his blocking, quick reaction, and solid framing behind the plate.
