José Ramírez, Guardians’ Man of the Year: Fourth time awarded by the BBWAA

CLEVELAND – Dominican third baseman José Ramírez has been awarded the prestigious Bob Feller Man of the Year Award, a recognition given by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) of Cleveland.

This award highlights Ramírez’s excellence in the 2025 season, recognizing his impact and performance on the field.

Ramirez, a key figure in obtaining the American League Central Division title, adds this award for the fourth time in his career, having won it in 2016, 2021, and 2022.

In the 2025 season, the 33-year-old player once again became an undisputed leader for the Guardians, demonstrating his worth with notable offensive performances.

In 158 games, Ramírez exhibited an impressive .283/.360/.503 average, including 34 doubles, 30 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 44 stolen bases, leading the team in all these categories.

His outstanding season earned him third place in the Most Valuable Player voting and his seventh All-Star Game selection.

In addition to the recognition of Ramírez, the Cleveland BBWAA also announced that Carl Willis, pitching coach, was honored with the Frank Gibbons/Steve Olin Good Guy Award, for his positive attitude, respect, and collaboration with the media.

In 2025, Ramírez solidified his legacy as one of the Guardians’ most influential players, becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in extra-base hits and multi-home run games. He also surpassed Jim Thome in RBIs, ranking second in club history.

With this new award, Ramírez continues to cement his career as a fundamental player in the history of the Guardians.
