San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic – The Estrellas Orientales have made a significant move in the trade market, acquiring outfielder Jerar Encarnación from the Leones del Escogido. In return, the Lions receive versatile outfielder and infielder Vidal Bruján.
This transfer aims to strengthen the Stars’ roster, especially in the offensive aspect, for the upcoming season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
Encarnación, who had previously been acquired by the Leones del Escogido from the Águilas Cibaeñas, arrives at the Estrellas with an outstanding career in the league.

In the last LIDOM season, Encarnación participated in 14 regular season games with the Águilas Cibaeñas, showing a batting average of .269, with two home runs and 11 RBIs. During the Round Robin, he played in 17 games, recording an average of .238, with one home run and seven RBIs.
Throughout his four seasons in the Dominican league, all with the Águilas, Encarnación has participated in 107 regular season games. In this time, he has hit 12 home runs, driven in 64 runs and accumulated a batting average of .283, with an on-base percentage of .362 and an OPS of .810.Major League Experience
The 28-year-old outfielder also has experience in the Major Leagues, having played three seasons. One with the Miami Marlins in 2022 and two with the San Francisco Giants in 2024 and 2025.
