SANTO DOMINGO, Rep. Dom. – The Organizing Committee of the Hato Mayor–Vicentillo 2026 Sports Festival will hold a press conference this Monday, March 23, to announce the details of this anticipated sporting event. The event is considered one of the main events on the national calendar during Holy Week.
The meeting with the media is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in the James Rodríguez Hall of the Ministry of Sports (Miderec). The attendance of sports authorities, sponsors, and members of the organizing committee is expected.
During the meeting, a recognition plaque will be presented to the Minister of Tourism, David Collado. The gala for the 30th anniversary of the beach volleyball tournament, the central event of the festival, will be dedicated to him, in gratitude for his management that has contributed to projecting the Dominican Republic as a tourist destination of excellence.
The traditional tournament will take place on the sand courts of Rancho Doña Callita, an emblematic setting for this competition. It will have a prize pool that exceeds three million pesos, distributed in the open, master, regional (male and female), and super master male categories.
In addition to beach volleyball, the festival will include competitions in disciplines such as softball, dominoes (men’s and women’s), checkers, and billiards. The event is established as a true celebration of sport and family recreation, with prizes that, in total, exceed RD$5 million.
The event will bring together high-level athletes from different provinces of the country, as well as international participants from the United States, Brazil, and Venezuela.
The Hato Mayor–Vicentillo Sports Festival is a benchmark of Dominican sports during Holy Week, thanks to the quality of its competitions and the family atmosphere that is experienced during three days of continuous activities.
In the press conference, details will be provided on the official schedule, the participating delegations, and the novelties of this special edition, which celebrates the three decades of the event.
