Enric Reyna, former FC Barcelona president, passes away

The football world mourns the loss of Enric Reyna Martínez, former president of FC Barcelona. The news was confirmed by business sources and the club itself. Reyna, born in Barcelona in 1940, assumed the presidency of the Catalan club after the resignation of Joan Gaspart, holding the position between February and May 2003. A real estate developer by profession, Reyna was a member of FC Barcelona since 1965. His career on the club’s board began in 2000, becoming vice president before assuming the presidency. During his brief tenure, the club achieved important successes in different sports sections.
  • King’s Cup of basketball
  • King’s Cup of roller hockey
  • EHF Cup of handball
Reyna resigned to convene an extraordinary assembly that led to elections, leaving the club in the hands of a management commission. Before leaving office, Reyna presented proposals to improve the club’s economic situation, including possible player trades. In the professional field, Reyna stood out as a real estate developer and was president of the Barcelona Developers Association (APCE) for 35 years. He also led Fira de Barcelona and the International Construction Exhibition (Construmat).
