Eflin Shines, Orioles Beat White Sox in Weather-Shortened Game

In a game marked by inclement weather, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Chicago White Sox with a score of 2-1. The game, which was moved up due to weather forecasts, saw Zach Eflin excel from the mound, guiding his team to victory.

Eflin, in a dominant performance, pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits, striking out six batters, and issuing one walk. This solid performance lowered his ERA to 4.46 and marked his first scoreless start of the season.

The score remained tied until the sixth inning, when Ramón Urías, Mexican player for the Orioles, hit a sacrifice fly that broke the tie against the White Sox starting pitcher, Sean Burke.

Subsequently, Ryan Mountcastle, also of the Orioles, scored a run via a steal of home. However, Mountcastle had to leave the game in the eighth inning due to right hamstring discomfort. Bryan Baker threw a perfect eighth inning. In the ninth, Dominican closer Félix Bautista allowed a run-scoring double by Andrew Benintendi, but managed to get out of the situation, leaving two runners on base and securing his ninth save of the season.

For the White Sox, Lenyn Sosa, from Venezuela, had an outstanding performance, batting 2-for-3. Miguel Vargas (Cuban) went 1-for-4, while Luis Robert Jr. (Cuban) went 0-for-3.

Regarding the Orioles, Ramón Urías (Mexican) went 0-2 with one RBI, and Emmanuel Rivera (Puerto Rican) finished 0-3.

The game, originally scheduled for 7:05 p.m., was moved up to 4:30 p.m. due to the weather forecast.
