SANTO DOMINGO – Following the recent defeat of the Dominican Republic’s team against the United States in the World Baseball Classic, fans have expressed diverse opinions on whom they will support for the remainder of the tournament. In a survey conducted in different parts of the capital, several fans expressed their support for the Venezuelan national team. They argue that the championship should be won by a Latin American team.
Other Dominicans shared this opinion, expressing their wish for Venezuela to achieve victory in their next match against Italy. “Hopefully Venezuela wins to get back at them for what they did to us… now they have to beat Italy,” commented another fan. However, not all Dominican fans share the same stance. Some, despite their team’s elimination, have declared their support for the United States, highlighting the strength and competitiveness of their team.May Venezuela win. If it were up to me, I am not Venezuelan, but I am not American either. They beat us and now I will support them.
