Junior Noboa Inaugurates the U12 Children’s Baseball Classic Banreservas Cup

The National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa, formally inaugurated the fifth edition of the U12 Children’s Baseball Classic Copa Banreservas this Friday in Yaguate. The ceremony was attended by key figures in the sport, authorities, and families who came together to support the young talents of Dominican baseball. The board of directors was composed of Junior Noboa, Abraham Key (president of Pony Baseball & Softball International), Eugenio Báez (president of Pony Dominicana) and Pedro Esteban, director of Business of BanReservas, along with Wilfredo de la Rosa, Regional Manager. Also present was Sardis Rivas, representative of the Yaguate Region of BanReservas.

All those present reaffirmed their support for formative sports and the creation of safe spaces and full of opportunities for Dominican children.

The event began with the parade of the participating teams, filling the ceremony with enthusiasm and color. In this edition, the representations of El Valle, Capitaleños, Cibao Central, Los Hidalgos, Valdesia, Metropolitanos, Región Este, Los Mineros, Nordeste, Enriquillo, Atléticos and Los Constituyentes are competing. The Yaguate Fire Department Band, directed by Colonel Alfonso Isabel Gutiérrez, performed the Dominican National Anthem, adding a solemn and patriotic touch to the event. In his keynote speech, Junior Noboa motivated the young athletes.

The ceremony culminated with the throwing of the first ball. Abraham Key was the honorary pitcher, Junior Noboa the honorary batter, Pedro Esteban the honorary catcher, and the Council of Aldermen of Yaguate acted as honorary umpires, officially starting the competitions. The National Baseball Commissioner’s Office reiterated its commitment to continue supporting initiatives that promote the integral development of Dominican children and youth, using sport as a tool for growth, values, and social transformation.
