Dominican Republic Sets New Home Run Record in the World Baseball Classic
Miami – The Dominican Republic’s offense continues to make its mark on the 2026 World Baseball Classic, setting a new home run record in the first four games of the tournament.
During the match against Venezuela, the Dominican power was felt early on. Juan Soto, Ketel Marte, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Fernando Tatis Jr. hit home runs in the first three innings of the game.
With these home runs, the Quisqueyan team reached a total of 13 home runs in their first four games of the championship. This is the highest figure recorded by a team at this stage of the World Baseball Classic.
The previous record was 12 home runs, set by Mexico in the 2009 edition.
The Dominican offensive power has been one of the main weapons of the team led by Albert Pujols, which presents a lineup full of Major League stars, capable of changing the course of a game with a single swing.
In addition to setting this new record in the first four games, the Caribbean team is approaching the record for most home runs connected by a team in a single World Baseball Classic. This mark also belongs to Mexico, with 14 home runs in 2009.
With the offensive rhythm shown by the Dominican hitters, it would not be surprising if the team surpasses that figure and continues to write its history in the international tournament.
