SANTO DOMINGO.- The Leones del Escogido celebrated this Friday the official delivery of the championship rings of the 2024-2025 season. This celebration commemorates the conquest of their 17th crown in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
The team achieved this triumph after defeating the Tigres del Licey in an exciting final series that extended to seven games. In addition, the Lions added their fifth Caribbean Series title to their record, obtained in Mexico.

The event was chaired by Eduardo Najri, president of the Escogido Baseball Club, accompanied by other members of the board.

One of the most outstanding moments was the presentation of the ring to Junior Caminero, third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays. Caminero was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the Final Series.
Caminero starred in a memorable play, the “Caminerazo”, a home run that surpassed 411 feet and gave the definitive advantage to the Leones in the ninth inning of the seventh and decisive game.
Other key players also received their rings, such as Sócrates Brito, who made a spectacular catch to secure the final out of the final; Johnny Cueto, Erik González, Franmil Reyes, Junior Lake, and Héctor Rodríguez, among others.
In addition, the coaching staff and support personnel were recognized, including coaches Tony Díaz, Israel Alcántara, Wilkin Castillo, Charlie Valerio, René Rojas, Jorge Mejía and Héctor “La Manta” De la Cruz, valuing their contribution to the team’s success.
The 2024-2025 Final Series will be remembered as one of the most exciting in the history of the Dominican Professional Baseball League, pitting the Eternal Rivals, Escogido and Licey, against each other. This series kept fans on the edge of their seats due to its intensity and high level of competition.
With the delivery of the rings, the Leones del Escogido close a historic season, consolidating their legacy as one of the most successful franchises in Dominican baseball.
