Tom Brady Immortalized: A Statue for the Legend in Foxborough

In a moving event held at Gillette Stadium, Tom Brady, considered by many to be the best player in NFL history, was honored with a bronze statue. The ceremony, which took place this Friday, was described by Brady himself as a tribute to the greatness of the New England Patriots.

I know what this statue represents, and it’s not about a single player. It never was, and in American football, it never will be. It’s about the greatness of a team and the commitment of everyone who forged the Patriots dynasty.

The statue, 5.2 meters tall, was unveiled by Patriots owner Robert Kraft in front of a crowd of fans. The sculpture’s hexagonal granite base is engraved with the dates and achievements of Brady’s seven Super Bowl wins, six with New England and one with Tampa Bay.

Thank you for being here to honor and immortalize the legendary career of a sports icon, the best NFL player of all time.

Kraft explained that the height of the statue symbolizes the 17 divisional titles won under the leadership of the quarterback. In a moment of humor, Brady pretended to receive a call from his former coach Bill Belichick, joking about the demands that marked his career. The 47-year-old former quarterback holds multiple NFL records, including the most regular season wins (251), passing yards (89,214), and touchdown passes (649). In addition, he was selected to the Pro Bowl 15 times, three-time NFL Most Valuable Player, and five-time Super Bowl MVP. The unveiling of the statue preceded the preseason game between the Patriots and the Washington Commanders, solidifying Brady’s legacy in the New England franchise.
