Aguilas Cibaeñas Strengthen with Juan Carlos Gamboa for the Round Robin

The Águilas Cibaeñas have announced the incorporation of the talented Mexican infielder Juan Carlos “Harper” Gamboa, recognized for his outstanding defense in Latin American baseball. This strategic addition seeks to strengthen the team’s defense and lineup in the final phase of the Round Robin. Gamboa joins the Eagles after an outstanding season in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) with the Diablos Rojos del México. There, he was awarded Defensive Player of the Year 2025, thanks to an impressive fielding factor of .993, which positioned him among the best defenders in the league.

A Glove of Elite and Offensive Power

Gamboa stands out for his versatility, being able to play in the position of shortstop, second base and third base, offering a top-level defense. In addition to his defensive skills, the left-handed player brings an impactful bat, as demonstrated by his numbers from 2025:
  • .376 average
  • 10 home runs
  • 52 RBIs in 68 games with the Red Devils.
In the Mexican Pacific League (LMP), playing for the Yaquis de Obregón, Gamboa also showed offensive consistency, batting .276 with 15 RBIs.

A Key Reinforcement for the Final Stretch

The Eagles’ Baseball Operations Management has indicated that the hiring of Gamboa responds to the need to reinforce the infield and add depth to the offensive order, especially in the remaining five crucial games of the Round Robin.
