Craig Albernaz Recovers After Facial Impact

Manager Craig Albernaz is out of danger after Monday’s incident at Camden Yards, an event that tested his renowned fortitude in the baseball world. During the fifth inning of the game where the Orioles defeated the D-backs with a score of 9-7, Albernaz was hit in the face by a foul line of 70.6 mph connected by infielder Jeremiah Jackson. The manager, who is in his first season as a manager in the Major Leagues, was attended to immediately and accompanied out of the dugout by outfielder Taylor Ward and the medical staff. After being evaluated, Albernaz briefly returned to the dugout, with a visible mark on his right cheek. Demonstrating his character and the team’s atmosphere, he embraced Jackson after his grand slam in the sixth inning. However, he did not stay in the dugout or participate in the post-game press conference, as he underwent medical examinations as a precaution.

Okay. If it were up to him, he’d finish the game and be sitting here.

Jackson admitted that the moment was difficult, and it took him several minutes to calm down. Seeing his leader return to the dugout helped reduce the worry.

You never want to hurt anyone, and Alby is incredible, so it was hard. But he took it well and is in good spirits, that made me feel better.

The reaction spread rapidly within the team and on social media. Even Arizona’s manager, Torey Lovullo, expressed his concern and support.

It hurts us to see something like this. We wish Craig the best, we all support him.

Despite having only 16 games as a manager in the Major Leagues, Albernaz has already earned the respect of players and coaching staff. What happened on Monday only reinforced his image of strength.

It was good to see him return a moment after what happened. We hope everything is well.

At the moment, it has not been confirmed whether Albernaz will be in charge of the team in Tuesday’s game against Arizona, as he remains under medical evaluation as a precautionary measure.
