Cincinnati – Ronald Acuña Jr. once again demonstrated his offensive ability by hitting a home run, leading the Atlanta Braves to an 8-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds along with Michael Harris II. The encounter, which marked the beginning of the series at Great American Ball Park, saw Acuña Jr. ignite the game from the start. The Venezuelan gardener hit an impressive home run on the first pitch of the game, sending the ball into the stands in left-center field. The hit, his fourth of the season, traveled 429 feet and left the bat at a speed of 113 miles per hour. This home run extended Acuña Jr.’s good offensive moment, who came from hitting a grand slam in the previous game. Michael Harris II was also key in Atlanta’s offense, batting 3-5 with three RBIs. The Braves achieved their 39th victory of the season. Atlanta took an early 4-0 lead, although Cincinnati responded with solo home runs from JJ Bleday and Nathaniel Lowe, closing the gap in the score. Starting pitcher Grant Holmes worked 4.2 innings, allowing three runs and seven hits. Didier Fuentes took the victory in relief, overcoming a dangerous situation in the fifth inning. Fuentes struck out Eugenio Suárez with runners on first and third, securing the lead for Atlanta and improving his ERA to 0.96. The Braves sealed the victory with a four-run rally in the sixth inning, with offensive contributions from Mike Yastrzemski and Jorge Mateo. By Cincinnati, Yunior Marte returned to the Major Leagues after being called up to the team following Graham Ashcraft’s injury.
