Charles Oliveira vs. Rafael Fiziev: Main Event Cancelled at UFC Fight Night
The lightweight main event between Charles Oliveira and Rafael Fiziev has been canceled for the UFC Fight Night on October 11.
The 155-pound fight, which was scheduled to headline the UFC Fight Night in Rio de Janeiro, is off due to an injury to Fiziev.
The UFC has not yet commented on Fiziev’s injury or a possible replacement.
Oliveira, 35 years old, was looking to compete in his home country, Brazil, for the first time since March 2020. The fighter seeks to recover after his knockout loss to Ilia Topuria in June, in the fight for the vacant division title.
Fiziev, 32, was coming off a decision victory against Ignacio Bahamondes in June. Before that, he suffered a decision loss to Justin Gaethje in March.
