Albazi vs. Taira to Headline UFC Fight Night in August

The world of mixed martial arts is preparing for an exciting showdown in the flyweight division. The UFC has announced that Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira will face off in a five-round battle that will serve as the main event of UFC Fight Night on August 2nd.

The event will take place at the Apex facilities in Las Vegas.

Albazi, currently ranked number 3 in the flyweight division, will seek to recover from his most recent defeat. His overall record is 17 wins and 2 losses. For his part, Taira, ranked number 5, comes to the fight with a record of 16 wins and 1 loss, also seeking to redeem himself after his last fight.

Both fighters will seek to return to the path of victory after having suffered defeats in their most recent fights.

Albazi, from Iraq, returned from a long absence due to injury to face former champion Brandon Moreno in November, where he lost by decision. Despite having fought only twice in the last two years, his 5-1 record still stands out in the division, partly thanks to his three finishes.

Taira, a 25-year-old from Japan, suffered the first defeat of his professional career against Brandon Royval in October. Before that loss, he had achieved six consecutive victories.

The current flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja, is scheduled to defend his title against Kai Kara-France at UFC 317 on June 28.
