Cleveland Guardians Achieve Tenth Consecutive Victory

In a display of power and consistency, the Cleveland Guardians achieved their tenth consecutive victory by defeating the Minnesota Twins with a resounding score of 8-0 on Saturday. This triumph, which completes a successful doubleheader without allowing runs, solidifies their impressive winning streak.

Steven Kwan was the key figure of the match, tying his season record with four RBIs, demonstrating his value in the Guardians’ offense.

The Guardians, who have won 15 of their last 16 games, are only one game away from first place in the American League Central Division, the Detroit Tigers. This remarkable comeback comes after being 11 games back on September 4th and 14 before the All-Star break.

The Detroit Tigers suffered a defeat against the Atlanta Braves, which has extended their losing streak to five consecutive losses and eight in their last nine games.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Guardians prevailed with a score of 6-0, highlighted by their five home runs, something that hadn’t happened since April 2021.

The Guardians’ attack unleashed in the fifth inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring multiple runs. Kwan drove in runs with a single, while Kyle Manzardo and CJ Kayfus also contributed with RBI singles.

Kwan added two more runs in the eighth inning, securing the victory for the Guardians.

Logan Allen (8-11) earned the victory, allowing only four hits and striking out seven in eight innings, a career high. The Guardians’ starters have maintained a solid defense, allowing a maximum of two earned runs in 15 consecutive games, the longest streak in franchise history.

Bailey Ober (5-9) of the Twins allowed six runs and eight hits in five innings.
