Keibert Ruiz Brings Joy to His Parents in His Nationals Debut
Catcher Keibert Ruiz provided an unforgettable moment for his parents in his first game with the Washington Nationals. In his first at-bat against the Atlanta Braves, Ruiz hit a run-scoring double that hit the right field wall in the first inning.
Immediately after connecting the hit, Ruiz directed a signal to his parents, who reacted with jubilation, jumping and shouting with emotion. Ruiz’s mother recorded the moment with her phone.

Ruiz, 26, debuted in the Major Leagues in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was playing his 450th game of his career. This was the first time his parents were able to travel from Venezuela to see him play.
Ruiz further contributed to the Nationals’ triumph, hitting a run-scoring single in the fourth inning, which helped his team beat the Braves 8-7 in 10 innings.
