Kutter Crawford and the Red Sox Avoid Arbitration with Million-Dollar Deal
Right-handed pitcher Kutter Crawford and the Boston Red Sox have reached an agreement to avoid salary arbitration. The contract, for one year, is valued at $2.75 million.
Crawford, who missed the entire last season due to knee and wrist injuries, will receive the same salary as the previous year. In 2024, the pitcher had a 9-16 record with a 4.36 ERA, leading the Major Leagues in losses (16) and home runs allowed (34).
Crawford, 29, began last season on the injured list with a knee injury and underwent surgery on his right wrist in July. Throughout his career, Crawford has an 18-31 record with a 4.56 ERA.
Four Red Sox players are still arbitration-eligible: right-handers Tanner Houck and Johan Oviedo, first baseman Triston Casas, and second baseman Romy Gonzalez. Players and teams are expected to exchange salary proposals on Thursday.
