Philadelphia witnessed an exciting triumph by the Phillies, who defeated the Red Sox with a score of 3-2 in a game that was decided in the tenth inning.

Automatic runner Brandon Marsh scored the winning run thanks to a catcher’s interference, with the bases loaded, thus sealing the victory for the Phillies.

In the bottom of the tenth inning, Edmundo Sosa made a controlled swing that resulted in contact with catcher Carlos Narváez’s glove. After a review, interference was determined, allowing Marsh to score the winning run.

This receiver interference victory is an uncommon event in MLB history.

Phillies’ starting pitcher Zack Wheeler had an outstanding performance, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs with seven hits and ten strikeouts. Relievers Tanner Banks, Orion Kerkering, Matt Strahm, and Max Lazar, who earned his first Major League win, kept the Red Sox at bay.

The Phillies scored two runs in the fourth inning, thanks to a double by Bryce Harper, a single by Nick Castellanos, and a single by J.T. Realmuto.

Jarren Duran hit a home run for Boston at the start of the game, and Trevor Story tied the score in the sixth inning with a run-scoring single.

Walker Buehler, the Boston starter, pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs, one of them earned.
