Ohtani Set to Increase Workload
Los Angeles Dodgers phenomenon Shohei Ohtani is set for his next pitching start on Monday, continuing his progress following elbow surgery. In his sixth start, Ohtani will pitch three innings against the Minnesota Twins, giving way then to Dustin May, according to manager Dave Roberts. In his last outing in San Francisco, Ohtani also pitched three innings, allowing one hit, striking out four batters and conceding a walk, with a total of 36 pitches. The right has an effectiveness of 1.00, having pitched a total of nine innings this season. The Dodgers begin the second half of the season leading the National League West Division, with optimism about the arrival of reinforcements for their pitching staff, affected by injuries. While Ohtani participated in the All-Star Game this week, Roki Sasaki (shoulder) was training during the break. My assumption is that we get to four entries and then probably repeat the four. At that point, it’s probably a normal game.

Sasaki’s speed has reached 90 mph, “which is a pretty good intensity”, according to Roberts. Blake Snell (shoulder) is scheduled for his third rehab start on Sunday with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He will throw three innings, with the ultimate goal of throwing four.Everything I hear has been positive. Hopefully, we can keep building on it and have him face some hitters and get back to competing.
