MLB Investigates Accusations Against Sean Hjelle of the San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants reported that Major League Baseball (MLB) is investigating the abuse allegations made by reliever Sean Hjelle’s wife. Caroline Hjelle posted a video on TikTok on Friday, where she is seen with the couple’s two children. The attached message said: “When my MLB husband abandons us on Mother’s Day a week after this (the video was taken) once I finally discovered his affairs and stopped enduring his abuse, so I’ve been raising two children alone.”

The Giants issued a statement on Saturday, stating that they are “aware of these serious allegations” and that MLB is handling the situation. Manager Bob Melvin stated before Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox that Hjelle would be available to pitch.

Obviously, we are aware of it. He told me last night. We spoke with MLB. At this moment, it is in their jurisdiction, so I really can’t comment further.

Hjelle suffered the loss in Friday night’s game against the Red Sox, allowing a home run by Ceddanne Rafaela in the sixth inning. So far this season, Hjelle has a 1-1 record with an ERA of 4.66 in six appearances.
