Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Leads in All-Star Game Voting

The Toronto Blue Jays player, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., tops the voting for the MLB All-Star Game in the American League, surpassing Paul Goldschmidt of the New York Yankees at first base. Guerrero, with a batting average of .279, 10 home runs, and 39 RBIs in 76 games, has accumulated 1,192,604 votes. Goldschmidt, with 1,118,501 votes, remains close in the race. Ronald Acuña Jr., of the Atlanta Braves, seeks his fifth All-Star Game selection and aims to equal the record of Hank Aaron and Dale Murphy. Acuña has climbed to fourth place among National League outfielders, with 1,140,061 votes, boosted by his performance since his return from the injured list. Cal Raleigh, catcher for the Seattle Mariners, leads the American League in home runs with 31 and tops the voting for catchers with 1,901,389 votes. Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, multiple MVP award winners, continue to dominate the overall voting. Judge, with a batting average of .367, an on-base percentage of .468, and a slugging percentage of .727, leads with 2,699,483 votes. Ohtani leads the National League with 2,521,718 votes, in addition to his impressive offensive statistics. The All-Star Game voting is divided into two phases. The first phase ends on Thursday, June 26. The two players with the most votes at each position, including six outfielders, will compete in a second round to determine the game’s starters on July 15 at Truist Field in Atlanta Braves.
