San Francisco Giants Send Sean Hjelle to Triple-A and Call Up Carson Seymour
The San Francisco Giants have made the decision to send right-handed pitcher Sean Hjelle to Triple-A Sacramento, while also calling up right-handed pitcher Carson Seymour.
The decision came after Hjelle’s performance on Thursday night, where he allowed four runs and five hits in one inning during the Giants’ 12-5 loss to Miami.
Hjelle, standing at 6’11”, has a 1-1 record with an ERA of 6.75 in nine appearances this season.
Last Saturday, the Giants reported that Major League Baseball was investigating allegations of abuse made by Hjelle’s wife on social media. Hjelle did not comment on the allegations, but indicated that he and his wife were finalizing their divorce.
Carson Seymour, for his part, has not yet debuted in the Major Leagues. So far this season, he has a 3-8 record with a 3.89 ERA in 15 starts with Sacramento.
Seymour, 26, was selected in the sixth round of the draft by the New York Mets in 2021, coming from Kansas State.
