Freddie Freeman Leaves Game with Wrist Injury

The Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman, Freddie Freeman, had to leave Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers after being hit on the left wrist by a pitch in the sixth inning.

According to the Dodgers’ official announcement, the injury suffered is a contusion on the left wrist.

Brewers’ left-handed pitcher, José Quintana, was responsible for the pitch, an 88 mph sinker that directly hit Freeman’s wrist as he attempted to check his swing.

Immediately after being hit, Freeman went to the home dugout, stopped briefly to talk with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, and a team trainer, before disappearing down the tunnel.

Hyeseong Kim entered as a pinch runner in place of Freeman, and Miguel Rojas occupied first base in the following inning.
