Jazz Chisholm Jr. Leaves Game with Knee Injuries

The New York Yankees’ second baseman, Jazz Chisholm Jr., had to leave Thursday night’s game against the Houston Astros in the fourth inning due to contusions on both knees. According to the team, the injuries occurred in different plays during New York’s 8-4 victory.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious, at least that’s the feeling at the moment,” manager Aaron Boone stated. “But we’ll see how it is tomorrow.”

Chisholm was injured in a collision with José Altuve at the end of the third inning, when the Astros player was trying to steal second base. After the play, he touched his left knee with gestures of pain before limping off the field. However, he remained in the game to bat in the top of the fourth inning, where he was struck out. Chisholm was replaced by José Caballero for the bottom of the inning. Boone explained that the contusion on his right knee occurred while fielding a hard ground ball from Ramón Urias at the end of the second inning.
