The decision is retroactive to Sunday. Quintana last pitched on Friday in the 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, where he allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings.
In a corresponding move, the Brewers have called up right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.

The 36-year-old veteran played last season with the New York Mets, finishing with a 10-10 record and a 3.75 ERA in 170 1/3 innings. In his career, which began in 2012 with the Chicago White Sox, he has a 106-104 record with a 3.72 ERA with eight teams.
Myers, 26, has a career record of 10-6 with a 3.09 ERA in 32 appearances (29 starts) for Milwaukee.
