Milwaukee Brewers Make Roster Moves: Megill to Injured List and Fedde Bolsters Pitching

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – The Milwaukee Brewers have made significant moves to their roster, impacting their pitching staff. All-Star closer Trevor Megill was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a strain in his right flexor. Simultaneously, the team has incorporated right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde, who joins his third organization this season.

Megill, 31, has had an outstanding season with a 5-3 record, a 2.54 ERA, and 30 saves in 44 appearances. He has struck out 58 batters in 46 innings. However, he has struggled recently, losing three of his last four save opportunities.

Erick Fedde, 32 years old, will be available for the Brewers’ home game against Arizona. Fedde signed with the National League Central leaders three days after being released by the Atlanta Braves.

In his time in Atlanta, Fedde had a 1-2 record with an 8.10 ERA in five games. Previously, with the St. Louis Cardinals, he recorded a 3-10 record with a 5.22 ERA in 20 starts, before being designated for assignment last month.

These moves are crucial for the Brewers, who need healthy arms to cover innings in an 18-day period in which they will play 19 games.

In addition, the Brewers also moved right-handed pitcher Logan Henderson to the 60-day injured list.
